Maria Pia Castelli's estate sits on eight hectares above Monte Urano in the Fermo hills, on iron-rich clay soils close enough to the Adriatic to benefit from sea breezes. First made in 2002, Stella Flora blends Pecorino, Passerina, Trebbiano and Malvasia di Candia, fermented with skin contact in wood for 15-20 days with low sulphite use, ageing 18 months in barrel with no added sulphites. Antique-gold colour; mandarin, bitter orange and herbal notes on the nose, dry, savoury and richly aromatic on the palate.
- Region: Marche IGT, Monte Urano, Italy
- Grapes: Pecorino, Passerina, Trebbiano, Malvasia di Candia
- Vintage: 2020
- ABV: 12.5%
- Style: Orange / Skin-contact white
Goes well with: Roast poultry, boiled meats, fish, cheeses, or as an unconventional aperitivo.
