Antichi Vigneti Manca is run by sisters Alessia and Noemi Manca ('li sureddi', Sardinian for 'the sisters'), the fourth generation of their family to farm vines in Romangia, on Sardinia's north-west coast between Castelsardo and Porto Torres. Li Sureddi Bianco blends Vermentino with the nearly-forgotten Girò Bianco, from 40-50 year old bush vines on limestone and white marl soils in the Badde Pira cru. Brief skin maceration gives a deep golden colour and a saline, structured, orange-leaning style with notes of Mediterranean scrub, almond and ripe citrus. Spontaneous fermentation, aged 2 years in cement, no synthetic treatments.
