Iparieti Ceppi Sparsi

I Parieti takes its name from the dry stone walls that encircle the vineyards in Contrada Montursi, Gioia del Colle. Owner Matteo Santoiemma, a former Antinori manager, returned home to restore his family's 1959 alberello-trained vineyard. Ceppi Sparsi is 100% Primitivo, fermented partly as whole bunches, aged 14 months across wood, glass demijohns and steel with only minimal sulphites added before bottling. Full-bodied yet elegant, moving from fresh, spicy notes to a deeper, more composed darkness - regarded by some critics as among the finest natural Primitivo being made today.
