Fabio Ferracane Guanciabianca 24

Fabio Ferracane grew up in his family's vineyards in Contrada Bosco near Marsala, returning home in 2011 after studying oenology and working abroad. Guanciabianca - named after a Sicilian folk tale of two lovebirds - is his pure Catarratto, briefly macerated on its skins for two days before seven months of lees ageing in steel. Spontaneous fermentation, no additives, no filtration. Golden colour reminiscent of sunset over the Stagnone salt pans; aromas of dried apricot, peach, sage and rosemary with a saline, almond-tinged, persistent palate - a wine built around femininity and reassurance, as Fabio himself describes it.
