Deperu Holler Fria 23

Carlo Deperu and Tatiana Holler farm six hectares between the Gallura and Anglona regions of northern Sardinia, on limestone, clay, marl and granite soils near the Coghinas river. Fria is their Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, Sardinia's only DOCG appellation. High planting density and low yields (50 q/ha) concentrate flavour; native-yeast fermentation and minimal cellar intervention give a fresh, saline, aromatic white shaped by the constant maestrale wind blowing in from the nearby sea.
