Chona's Marani Mtsvane

Chona's Marani is a small family winery in Telavi, Kakheti, run by the Chonishvili family across generations. This amber wine is made from Kakhetian Mtsvane grown on the family's two-hectare vineyard in the Tsinandali micro-zone (550m altitude), fermented and aged in traditional clay qvevri buried underground, following an 8,000-year-old Georgian method recognised by UNESCO. Extended skin contact gives the wine real tannic structure; the nose shows ripe apricot, pear and quince with honey and dried nut tones, balanced by tarragon and mint notes characteristic of Mtsvane. Organically grown, unfined, unfiltered, with very low total sulphites.
