Aldo Viola Krimiso

Named after Krimiso, the river deity of an ancient thermal river in the province of Trapani. Aldo Viola's flagship orange wine comes from 100% Catarratto grown on red sandy soils near Alcamo, in western Sicily. After destemming, the grapes macerate on their skins for several months in steel tanks before only the free-run juice is bottled, unfiltered and unfined, with no added sulfites. Deep golden-amber in the glass, with notes of citrus, candied fruit, white flowers and dried herbs; the palate is fresh, saline and gently tannic, with real ageing potential.
