Distilleria Gualco is a family business that has been producing grappa since 1870. They use a special method called the "Piedmont bain-marie pot still" to create their grappa. This method involves heating the grape pomace indirectly by immersing the pot in boiling water, which prevents the grappa from developing a burnt flavor. This technique also allows the grappa to evaporate slowly, resulting in a smooth and aromatic final product. With eight generations of experience, Distilleria Gualco continues to produce exceptional grappa using traditional methods.

Vermouth, a fortified wine flavored with wormwood and various herbs and spices, has a rich history dating back to 1786. Antonio Benedetto Carpano, a distiller from Turin, Italy, is credited with its initial production in the Piedmont region. Wormwood, known as Artemisia Absinthium, is a key ingredient in all vermouth recipes.

The use of wormwood in winemaking traces back to ancient times. Cicero, a renowned Roman statesman, reportedly served a wine called "Vinum Ellenicum Absinthiatum" to his guests. This wine originated from Greece and was flavored with wormwood and other botanicals.
